The Short Story

Comprehensive campaign lifts an innovative educational movement to the next level.

Project L.I.F.T. is a groundbreaking movement in public education, a public-private partnership between Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Charlotte’s philanthropic community. Short for Project Leadership & Investment For Transformation, Project L.I.F.T.’s goal is to change the way traditionally underserved students are educated, supported and empowered to realize their full potential. The focus is on West Charlotte High School and eight elementary and middle schools in its feeder pattern.

Kcomm first partnered with Project L.I.F.T. to assist in the essential mission of recruiting excellent teachers. We created a comprehensive campaign that includes advertising in national educational publications, social media and public relations. To provide more engaging content on the recruiting section of the Project L.I.F.T. website, we produced a series of videos featuring one-on-one interviews with teachers, administrators and school district leaders speaking candidly and passionately about the far-reaching goals and proven results of an initiative committed to ensuring every child receives an excellent education.

In addition, we implemented a special monthly email newsletter designed to inspire prospective educators; our list features more than 14,000 addresses. Through the intricate reporting system we helped develop, we can track the success of every teacher resume gained through every effort.

Kcomm’s relationship with Project L.I.F.T. expanded when they lost two public relations professionals. We seamlessly stepped in, and within weeks, we had cultivated sources and stories to keep Project L.I.F.T. top of mind for potential recruits and the media alike. We are pleased to report that within one month of the most recent school year start, all nine Project L.I.F.T. schools are fully staffed.
