How do you share a consistent message with more than 500,000 associates around the globe? Compass Group partnered with Kcomm to create the big idea for a unique, memorable promotional web video designed to spark company-wide engagement.

Based in the United Kingdom and with American operations in North Carolina, Compass Group is a leading foodservice and support services company with multiple sectors focused on restaurants, corporate cafes, schools, arenas, museums, healthcare facilities and more. Be-A-Star, an annual business initiative program, recognizes associates and teams for achieving business excellence. Our challenge with the Be-A-Star promotion was to reach a highly diverse global audience with a concept everyone could understand and enjoy, and one that wouldn’t smack of just another mandatory HR initiative.

This was a job for a Superhero Superstar.

Our animated video follows three ordinary Compass Group associates – representing the company’s key areas of foodservice, corporate office operations and support services – who see Be-A-Star as the inspiration to transform themselves into something super. Their lovably low-tech and DIY approach to superhero-ness involves costumes assembled with cheese graters, computer keyboards and hospital linens. Enduring a few bumps and bruises as they get the hang of it, our intrepid associates find the power inside them to achieve greatness – and viewers are invited to do the same.
